What do I do next to get one of these websites up and running?

There are a few places to start but while you are thinking about what content you will be adding, a great place to start is the template, what you want it to look like.

So how do I go about getting a template designed for my Joomla site?

1. Take a look at some other websites to get some ideas, competition sites is a good place to start.
2. Look for the correct colours, colours matter, practical, easy to read, you favourite colour/s might not work on the internet!
3. Structure your site to what you want to do with it, keep it simple, a flow from landing to your point of conversion or contact page.
4. Keep graphics & flash to a minimum. Graphics slow you down, need a balance.
5. How many columns on the left &/or right, what are the columns going to be used for.
6. Where do you want the menu, left or right column, top of page or below the header.
7. Need a footer, what links if any on the footer?
8. Not last, but should be first, the sites KEYWORD/s, the website should revolve around your keywords, without it looking spammy or keyword stuffed.

Here are some questions we will ask you:

1. We need 3 colours, web safe colours if possible, else the colours look diffirent on each browser, colours in hex format; eg; #F00000.
2. Site structure: column on left and right, only left, only right, wide or narrow.
3. Header/footer height and width (site width)
4. Menu position, gloss or flat, cascading?
5. Supply images if possible, else images might need to be purchased.
6. Logo/Branding images, branding text
7. Fonts required, stay with basic fonts, your visitors may not have the same fonts you have installed on your PC.
8. Site style, square/ rounded corners, drop shadows.
9. We need one or two web site links that looks similar or have aspects you are looking for in a web site.

From this information we can set up a draft template, and work from there.

We have an idea of the template what now?

You need to think about the menu structure, what menu items you will be needing, from this you can branch out to content.

What's great about this site is that you can add the content later, once we have finished the template, uploaded the site for you and configured it, all you need to do is add your content and you have a very professional easy to manage website with plenty of potential.

So what will it cost me?

To make this process easier we have formulated a few payment plans for Entry level websites (10 hours labour) which covers most basic website requirements :

1. Payment Plan 1: R3500.00, 50% deposit, 50% on site handover. Domain & Hosting not inlcuded (typical hosting cost: R20/month, domain R80/year for co.za)

2. Payment Plan 2 (6month): R1150 deposit, R575 for 5 months, includes domain (co.za or .com) & hosting for 1 year, hosting must be with IDS Hosting

3. Payment Plan 3 (12 months): R700 deposit, R350 for 11 months, includes domain (co.za or .com) & hosting for 1 year, hosting must be with IDS Hosting

Payment plans: Deposit is cash/EFT or Credit Card, monthly payments are via debit order only, via Netcash, copy of an ID and a utility bill is required. Payment plan form to be completed.
For more involved websites wishing to use a payment plan, a custom payment plan will be negotiated but not exceeding 12 months payment period.
Terms: Domain & Website remains the property of IDS until full payment is received. Website development and/or Website hosting may be stopped on non payment. No Refunds.

Header	Using a picture supplied by yourself of good quality and general idea of content.
Header (Company Logo)	Designed using Company logo and Company name etc, using graphics supplied by yourself.
Template	Designed using three main colours, buttons, columns, menu structures etc as per the specification and requirements form - found here.  Import of template onto your site.
Joomla software	Installation of software onto clients account and setup of passwords.
Website	Set up of site - menu's, side bars etc, as per specifications.
Inputting of content	Inputting of content supplied by yourself.

 

EXCLUDED IN THIS PRICE IS :

Header specially designed	Should you require the header to be specially designed, we will arrange for a designer to do that for you at your own cost.  This will be charged separately by the designer.
Add-Ons	Various add-ons are available as shown under that section on the site.  We will quote seperately for each add on.
All flash work	Will be quoted separately.
Additional input of content	Will be quoted separately.

 

Once we have the specifications and requirements, design & development will commence.
